Dr Adrian Panow

Director of Energy Investment within the Victorian State Government Department of Primary Industries

Adrian Panow is the Director Energy Investment within the Victorian State Government Department of Primary Industries. In this role he leads a team which is responsible for securing private sector investment to deliver on Victorian Government energy policies. The portfolio includes electricity generation from natural gas, wind, solar, geothermal and wave resources.

Prior to joining DPI, Adrian was the International Business Development Manager – Bioscience for Bonlac Foods Limited (at the time, Australia’s second largest dairy company). Adrian has also held management and board positions in public/private research centres and lectured in biotechnology.

Adrian has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Biochemistry/Applied Chemistry) degree and a PhD (Title: “Microbial Methanogenesis from Carbonaceous Substrates” - an investigation of the scientific and economic facets of the potential for the conversion of black coal waste into methane through bioprocessing). He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (Executive Business Operations) from the Mt Eliza Business School (University of Queensland) and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
