Acting CEO of Towong Shire Council

Aaron van Egmond is the Acting CEO of Towong Shire Council and together with the Councillors of Towong Shire has been instrumental in evolving a series of Major Projects that are not typically found in a Council of Towong Shire’s size. These projects focus on delivering a range of innovative technology and sustainability solutions, which give Towong Shire a genuine competitive edge and deliver highly measurable results. Aaron has progressed to the position of Acting CEO over six years with Towong Shire and was successful in winning the LGPro Young Achiever Award in 2008. Several of the Major Projects have won further awards including a National Award for Local Government. Prior to joining Towong Shire Aaron ran a Melbourne based construction business and maintains a strong entrepreneurial approach in his current role. In addition to focusing on Major Projects Aaron has worked to reform Council’s day to day operations with a recent example resulting in Towong Shire now delivering the second fast planning permit turnaround time in the State at 22 days.
